In case you didn't realize already I love eating and drinking in Japan from the pork buns, to the soups and noodles, to snacks and hot drinks from the vending machines so thought I would add a few pictures of the first few days of eating.
I remember last time we were here and the first night we arrived and weren't really hungry for a main meal (having just had one on the flight an hour or so before we landed) that we found one of our favorite places to get late night snacks or breakfast treats was the 7-11 across the road and our first meal last time of pork buns and sushi set a pattern for us (which will probably be happening this time around too :) )
This time our first meal was tonkatsu at the airport our first hearty breakfast in Japan
and the food tasted great and I knew it was just going to be the first of many great dishes in Japan.
My favorite hot chocolate
which I have seriously been hanging out for since Samara mentioned Japan
and dinner the first night was a delicious bowl of noodles, tofu, meat and vege and that was delicious
there have been amazing beef and rice dishes for lunch
and the cutest purple sweet potato treats while wandering around looking at anime figures,
there have been late night snacks, after a jam packed day, of sushi and red bean buns,
coffee and cake
to munch on while posting daily messages on FB and winding down in front of the TV before bed
more hot chocolate which warms the hands and soul while walking around in the cool weather
and tasty treats on Mt Takao
There have been pork and dumpling soups that are so delicious and warming on a chilly night
there have been snack packs of delicious treats
and gyoza to fill those empty spots (or just because :) )
There have been tasty street foods to eat in Hase Nakamura
and more delicious hot meals to dine on
Finally there were bento boxes and seriously I would like to travel long distances on a train more often just so that I can eat food from bento boxes
and I am thinking that I am really going to enjoy eating my way around Japan again.
