It was a weekend of rock 'n roll music, retro clothing and revving engines at Rosebud this weekend as they held the annual foreshore rockfest. The weekend looks like it would have been an awesome one with different events starting with a dance Friday night, to pin=up events, the car show itself, more bands and dancers throughout the day and evening on both Saturday and today.
We rocked on up today to have a look and there were some amazing cars and I could just picture them in their heyday cruising down the highway, rock 'n roll music playing from the radio, with guys and their slick backed hair and girls with their bright red lipstick and amazing outfits.
The music was cool, the cars were cool
and so were all the people wearing vintage clothing and the effort that goes in to each outfit was pretty amazing. We popped into a vintage store while were were there and I know where to go if I ever need 40-60s clothing because there were some gorgeous clothes there and I think they were reasonably priced,
I wasn't there just for the rockfest, the beach was calling my name and the water was beautiful, not too cold, not too hot and so clear you could have been in a tropical paradise instead of wandering a stretch of beach within Port Phillip Bay.
A boat with seabirds perched all over the bow and a lonesome dinghy gave off that feel too. I was also impressed by one of the container ships that was heading out through the heads,
watching it manouver and turn and I wonder what it's like when it hits the high seas with waves crashing over the hull and I really want to be out on the sea in the middle of nowhere experiencing that one day.
The walk down the pier had me feeling a little nostalgic and I was just happy to sit, to stare and just contemplate life, feeling the sun on my face and smelling the sea-spray. It was a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
