Nearly Got Through the "To Eat List"

We nearly got through our to-eat list (but not quite) and these were the last delicious treats that we ate while in South Korea.

Pork belly and banchan (side dishes) galore warmed us up after a

chilly day wandering around Seodaemum Prison, Gangnam and Korean War Memorial Museum.

And to top it off was soup, seriously the best thing you can eat in South Korea, is the soup and more soup.

and while we were in Nami Island we ate Chuncheong chicken and pork dakgalbi with the usual side dishes which was absolutely delicious

and after a day of exploring Suwon and N Seoul tower Linda and I tucked into oxbone soup and kimchi soup with all the trimmings

and washed it down with a little makegolli

Our last full day in Seoul we ate tonaktsu, seafood noodles and bibimbap

and as usual everthing was delicious. I haven't been able to fault anything food wise while in South Korea.

I've probably eaten way too many baked goods but they've all been

delicious and I am going to miss sweet potato lattes as well as the real lemon lemonade (and the waffles Jenna and I shared in Hongdae had a South Korean twist sweet potato flavoured with green tea and black sesame ice-cream to top it off.

Although our second to last taste of street food was not for the faint-hearted, soondae

(which is blood sausage with liver and kidneys which I was okay with although the soondae has a chewy texture to what I am used to at home. However I found something I didn't like eating...lung....the texture is spongy and I think I rated it almost as well as I did stinky tofu and if you read earlier blogs you know how much I liked that!!!!!)

While strolling through Myeondong for the last time we had our last taste of street food which was ice-cream and it was really good and a great way to finish our food tour of South Korea and Taiwan.

Our last breakfast in Seoul was one of those simple dishes that became a firm favourite for breakfast or a sweet treat, honey bread and who would think that something so simple could be so tasty and of course I had the last of my sweet potato lattes and of course it was delicious and just one of many things I will look forward to trying again on my next trip to South Korea.

We covered the majority of things on my 'to-eat list' but not all, so I guess that is a good excuse to come back with an added to list and see if I can finish that off.

So here's to more food tours in South Korea.
