80 THINGS TO DO BEFORE I TURN 80

 

 

I thought if I was going to start a travel blog I should have a to do list....to add to and cross off as I get to them....it's going to be a long one and ever changing I think. After all it's already changed....I've crossed off a lot on my first ever to do list, which was started over 30 years ago so I decided to start a new one...it began with 50 by 50 which is pushing it :) so changed it to 60...and then the list grew to 70 and then.......so why not 80 by 80....

 

1/See an  African Elephant in the wild.

2/To jump out of an airplane (with a parachute on)

3/Go hot air ballooning over the Serengeti.

4/To eat at the Fat Duck in London (or any Heston Blumenthal restaurant)

5/Walk the Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu.

6/To climb Mt Fuji.    I've seen it so it's a half a goal..8/2/13

7/To do a tango in Buenos Aires.

8/Go to every Disney Park Two down, three to go

9/Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.

10/Do the canyon swing in Queenstown.

11/See the star filled skies near Uluru.

12/Swim in a Icelandic lagoon.

13/Spend time at a school in Africa

14/Do a cooking class in Thailand.

15/Stand in the mist above Victoria Falls.

16/Go back to the country I was born in, Zimbabwe.

17/Take a cable car up Table Mountain.

18/To lay a wreath at Auschwitz.

19/Take a walk over Charles Bridge in Prague.

20/Sail/cruise through the Panama canal.

21/To go to an Olympic event (preferably gymnastics)

22/To stay at the Burg Al Arab(a high tea or a drink in the bar might do)

23/Take a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon WOOHOO done 18/2/13

24/Go ziplining, just about anywhere.

25/Graceland....need I say more

26/Have Thanksgiving dinner in New York (and do the sales after)

27/To walk the Great Wall of China.

28/To go to Base camp at Everest.

29/To tackle the trains in Tokyo. WOOHOO Feb 2013

30/To see a water puppet show in Vietnam.

31/To walk the steps to the giant Buddha on Lantau Island.

32/To go to Korea, both North and South

33/To do a cruise.

34/To find the Loch Ness Monster (or at least try and find it.)

35/To see Angkor Wat

36/To see a show at the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville

37/To put a flower on the genocide memorial in Rwanda.

38/To ride a bullet train .....WOOHOO done 8/2/13

39/To see the Glaciers in Alaska.

40/To see polar bears in the Arctic

41/To see the Aurora Borealis.

42/To find Santa in the North Pole (and try and get off the naughty list.)

43/Drink yak milk in a yurt in Mongolia

44/To visit Myanmar before it becomes too touristy.

45/To eat kimchi in Korea.

46/To take a helicopter ride over the volcanoes of Hawaii.

47/To volunteer at Peru Challenge if only for a week.

48/To stay in a villa in Tuscany

49/To have my portrait painted in montmatre

70/to watch a sunrise/sunset over a Mayan ruin.

71/to  go  to  the  womens  only  souk  in  Ibra  City  Oman.

72/To  visit  an  elephant  orphanage.

73/to  take  a  boat  ride  up  the  Nile  river.

74/To eat tapas in Madrid.

79/As I've done the trains in Japan...lets take it up a notch and try one in India

80/To watch a sumo match in Japan

82/To spend an evening under the stars at Bryce Canyon

83/To see the Plain of Jars in Laos.

84/TO SEE THE GRAND CANYON FROM THE SOUTH RIM THIS TIME

86/to experience some White Light Nights in other parts of the world, like St. Petersburg, Paris, Calgary or Toronto

87/To see Blues Bands Perform in Memphis or New Orleans
