I've loved being in London, recharging batteries (the human kind) catching up with family (today Mikayla met her Grandpa Ted for the first time) and reminiscing, I've been past places I used to live or used to work, places I used to eat or where I used to play. Some things are still there, unchanged on the outside, some have been refurbished as you would expect in 28 years. One of the hotels I used to work at, in the gift shop at the Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch is now a coffee shop on the corner and the rest is a building up for sale and I wonder what happened to what was once a thriving business. We went up to the observation deck at The Shard (72floors) and had some great views as you can see in the photos (so I didn't feel inclined to go the Eye as well which is only 33stories high) After taking in the views we wandered over the Tower Bridge and around the Tower of London before taking the no 15 bus and along the route I showed Mikayla more places that I used to spend time at like walking past St Paul's Cathedral every day to catch a bus down Fleet St where Rohanne and I used to work. We had dinner at The Admiralty which is in Trafalgar Square (pie, mash. mushy peas and liquor for those that don't know liquor is a parsley sauce with a touch of vinegar that is traditionally eaten with meat pies for me and a chicken burger for Mikayla) before having a last wander down Oxford St and an early night at the hotel because we have a busy day Pottering tomorrow
