have been most excited for both Krakow and Prague as they are both places that I have never visited in the past and so far Krakow is living up to my expectations, We had an early flight at 7.20am and were at the airport with plenty of time to spare but with very thorough security checks we only just managed to get onto the plane in time. The flight was brilliant, after all the long ones we have had, put on my headphones, listened to music and dozed and two and a half hours later we were here. We too a train from the airport costing 9PLN ($3.60) but had to wait a while because there are works going on the train lines. We picked up train tickets for Prague, found our accommodation (both were a bit of a saga) but we found them, freshened up and went to explore. We are really close to the Barbican which is a fortified outpost ar,defending the walls of the city from mauroding armies and is only one of three remaining fortresses in Europe. We wandered through Sr Florian's gate and into the main square which houses many buildings of historical and significant importance as well as market stalls horse and carriage rides, lots of overpriced restaurants (it is cheaper to walk a couple of blocks out of the main square to find cheap and hearty food) We found a dinky little restaurant at the end of a long hallway which made me think we had entered their parlour probably spent more than we should have 85Pln $32Aus but we were very happy with pierogi (Polish dumplings) and amazing beef soup filled wiht lots of veges and walnuts and Mikayla had ravioli We took the long way back to the apartment walking through the university area, grabbed stuff for breakfast (and made the mistake of buying some Polish chocolate which won'tt be coming home with us because Krakow is not known for it's chocolate and I can understand why it isn't😜 And so endeth the first day of leg 4 Krakow.
