oday was a couple of tram rides, a cablecar up the side of one hill. another hill to climb, lots of stairs, lots of walking and what should have been spectacular views but were a little less amazing because of the fog, We started our day at Vysehrad whose earliest records date back to the mid 10th century when it was a small hill fort, it grew in time to become a city, a royal castle and it's last function was as a fortress for the city of Prague which is how it stands today. It is beautiful place to wander around but is underappreciated by tourists who prefer to head to Prague Castle (not that I am complaining because it meant that Mikayla and I really got to enjoy wandering around the whole place. From here we crossed the river and headed to Petrin Hill, and this time took the cable car up to the top, we had considered going up the tower that stands on top of the hill but the viewing platform was shrouded in fog so skipped that, and just walked around the gardens and had lunch with a view, It is very pretty now, with autumn colours so I imagine when the flowers are in bloom Petrin Hill would be absolutely beautiful. We wandered down past the Strahov monastery and not for the first time this trip I wished I was a beer drinker because the monks have a brewery, Last stop of the day was Prague Castle and St VItus Cathedral which were very impressive and swarming with tourists. The original cibstruction on the site was built in the 9th Century but has undergone lots of changes in that time with expansions, wars, fires, renovations, and rebuilds and it stands today as an impressive complex towering over the river,
