Parting from Prague
Prague turned on it's glory for our last day, bringing out the sunshine so we took in a few favourites for those blue sky views as well as taking a wander around Wencelas Square. Wencelas Square is part of the New Town of Prague which was created in 1348 to provide more market squares and this was known as the horse market. The square has been a site used for demonstration and celebration, it is a busy commercial area and in a couple of weeks will house the Christmas markets :( too early for this one. There are some amazing cultural buildings around here with the national museum and opera house but one with a not so great reputation where the gestapo and later secret police were in residence. We made our way back to the Old Town Square in time for the astronomical clock to do it's thing, which is impressive if you think of how old the original clock is (1410) and the moving pieces of the Apostles (1787) and the Death skeleton who move every hour (but if you are expecting something wizz -bang and amazing you are not going to get it) We ate trdelnik with ice-cream and enjoyed our last hours in Prague before setting off on the next adventure
